GR Firm is proud to announce that today the Honorable Judge Mark A. Kearney from the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania entered a Final Order and Judgment approving the parties' Nationwide Class Action Settlement on behalf of over 100,000 distressed borrowers under the CARES Act forbearance.

The lawsuit alleged that Shellpoint violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA") by sending misleading mortgage statements to borrowers under the CARES Act: threatening to foreclose on their homes for past due amounts despite their active forbearance plans.

Although Shellpoint denied liability as part of the settlement, it nonetheless agreed to pay the full statutory damages under the FDCPA to resolve the lawsuit on a class-wide basis. As a result, Class members will receive immediate economic relief as well as corporate reform measures from Shellpoint.

In its Final Approval Order, Judge Kearney commended GR Firm's and its co-counsel Bailey & Glasser's performance in successfully litigating the lawsuit on behalf of the Class:

Today won one of its biggest decisions in a nationwide class action brought against Walgreen Co. for misleading consumers about the core qualities of its lidocaine pain relief patches. Having fought this motion for over a year, we are enthused to see our hard work yield dividends as we continue to grow our practice and protect consumers from being taken advantage of by large corporations. ✊

GR Firm filed a putative class action in the EDNY captioned: Christodoulu v. PS Global, LLC. The case concerns the defendants elderberry supplements which were determined by the BBB to contain a deminimis amount of the claimed ingredient.

New Corporate Representation Alert - NORMOPHARM, INC. Normopharm produces lithium supplements in the CIS and Europe. The company retained GR Firm to advance its goals of becoming a household name in North America. Work is underway to help those goals become reality.

Class Action Alert - GR Law filed a putative class action in the Southern District of New York, White Plains Courthouse on 3/17/2022. The case is captioned Jones v. Veridian Healthcare, LLC., (7:22-cv-02204) alleging Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and NY General Business Law violations.

CVS Pharmacy participated in the marketing and sale of CVS’s Lidocaine Patch (the
“Product”) through its pharmacies nationwide. On the Product’s front label, CVS warrants that
the Product is capable of delivering 4% lidocaine up to 8 hours upon the Product’s application
on the affected body part. The Product, however, does not live up to its warranty.

Walgreen Co., participated in the marketing and sale of Walgreens Pain Relieving Lidocaine
Patches (the “Product”) through its pharmacies nationwide. On the Product’s front label, Walgreen Co.,
warrants that the Product is capable of delivering 4% lidocaine. The directions on the Product’s
back label instruct users to “|u|se one patch for up to 12 hours” and to “|d|iscard patch after
single use.” The Product, however, does not live up to its warranty.
