An interesting article and well worth reading.

Hola mi gente! This year is my ten year anniversary serving as a Girl Scout troop leader. Some of the best and happiest memories I have are from Girl Scouts and leading my troop. My troop is an amazing group of strong, smart, motivated individuals who always rise to the challenge. Most of them have been with me since kindergarten. All of them are now in high school and preparing for college. When a parent tells me I am a great role model, I always respond, “Thanks to your daughter.” These girls have always motivated, inspired and reminded me to always be my best, to never demand perfection, and to always live in the moment. This year, every single one of them earned their Silver Award, one of the highest awards earned in Girl Scouting. I am so incredibly proud of them. Que te vaya bien!

I often take extended walks to clear my mind and reset. Every time I pass the courthouses I stop and admire the view. I absolutely love it. Don't forget to take the time to go for walks and enjoy the view. Que the vaya bien.

Hola mi gente! I hope you had a great weekend and a wonderful start to your week. I started my week with the deposition of a defendant in a trip and fall case. It was a long day, but a productive day. Que te vaya bien.

Post from Hispanic National Bar Association

Today's Hispanic Heritage Month historical highlight is Hon. Sonia Sotomayor! Former President Barack Obama nominated her as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court on May 26, 2009, and she assumed this role on August 8, 2009. This appointment made her the first Hispanic woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. The HNBA played a role in supporting this confirmation and fulfilled one of its founding missions: to work towards the nomination and confirmation of a Hispanic judge to the highest court in the nation. Her achievements and illustrious career speak for themselves! ⁣

Hola mi gente! National Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States began September 15th and ends on October 15th. Both of my parents were born in Puerto Rico and came to the United States in their early teens and twenties. I was raised in a bilingual household. Mi padres, abuelitas, tias, and tios spoke to us in Spanish. Con mis primos, we mostly spoke in English. Now, when older and younger generations got together, it was a combination of Spanish, English and Spanglish. Whatever language you choose to speak, Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Que te vaya bien.

Hola mi gente! One day, a long time ago, I set a goal to become an attorney. Then I accomplished my goal. I am the first in my family to graduate college and then law school. I was born and raised in the Bronx, where abuelitas watched over the neighborhood kids from their living room window, elbows perched on pillows covering the window sill. It was the kind of neighborhood where fire hydrants were waterparks and rooftop celebrations were the norm. Growing up, my mom would always say to us never forget who you are or where you came from. This is something I never forgot and say to my own daughter. I don't live in the Bronx anymore, but the Bronx still lives in me. You can take the girl out of the Bronx, but you can never take the Bronx out of the girl. Que te vaya bien.
