The people behind Legacy Group/Legacy immigration services in Florida were arrested for filing fake immigration applications, including asylum cases and work permits. They filed cases for people who didn't even know fake cases were filed for them.

If they handled your case, it does not disappear with them. You need to find out what was actually filed under your name and whether your case may be at risk. You may still have options available.

We are reviewing impacted cases now. Book a case review: https://bit.ly/3M7mV9c

Se você usou o Legacy Group, seu caso pode estar em risco.

USCIS announced that attorneys can no longer appear remotely at certain interviews, but of course, their policy isn't clear.

The policy references interviews at field offices AND asylum/NACARA interviews at asylum offices, separately.

Until USCIS clarifies, plan for in-person attendance.

This happened in my community this morning.

If ICE or law enforcement stops your car, what you do in those first moments matters.

Know your rights. Know your risks. And make sure you understand the laws in your state.

Asylum Tip 10: If you already filed your asylum application, read your answers again. Do they actually explain what happened?

We often see answers like:
• "I was threatened"
• "It was dangerous"
• "They wanted to harm me"

But immigration is looking for details.

What happened?
Who did it?
When did it happen?
What exactly was said or done?

Without those details, it can be harder for immigration to understand your case.

If you’ve already filed and your answers feel too general or unclear, it may be worth having your application reviewed. If you need help, book an appointment with us: https://bit.ly/4kDAEWQ

Asylum Tip 9: If you already filed your asylum application – or are thinking about filing – this is important. You have 1 year to file your case

In most many situations, you must file for asylum within one year of entering the U.S. We often see people who:
• Didn't know about the deadline
• Waited while exploring other options
• Filed late without explaining why

Even if your case is strong, timing can still affect the outcome.

There are exceptions in some situations – but they must be clearly explained.

If you're not sure whether the one-year deadline applies to you, or if your application addressed it correctly, it may be worth having your case reviewed. If you need help, book an appointment with us: https://bit.ly/4kDAEWQ

Scammers are impersonating immigration attorneys – stealing their videos and photos. Using AI to make fake videos. Hold pretend consultations.

They look real. They sound real. But they are NOT.

Do not send money through DMs. Do not send money on CashApp or Zelle, without verifying who it is.
Do not share personal information with random accounts.

Always verify:
✅ The account
✅ The website
✅ The phone number
✅ How they actually take payment

One attorney has over 3 dozen impersonators on Tiktok. Protect yourself. This is happening more than you think.

Asylum Tip 8: If you already filed your asylum application, check your timeline.

Your case includes a lot of dates – when you entered the U.S., where you lived, where you worked or went to school, and when things happened to you.

Those dates need to match throughout your application.

We often see:
• Dates that don't match in different sections
• Missing time where it's not clear where someone was living
• Differences between the form and the declaration

Even small mistakes can raise questions about your case.

If you've already filed and are not sure your timeline is clear and consistent, it is worth reviewing. If you know your timeline needs to be fixed, do it as soon as possible. If you need help, book an appointment with us: https://bit.ly/4kDAEWQ

The F2A category is current. But that does NOT mean you can file for your green card

If you entered without permission or your visa expired, this likely does not change your eligibility.

“Current” only means a visa is available. It does not fix visa problems. Filing anyways can get you denied and sent right to immigration court.

Know before you file.

If you saw Parts 1 and 2, you already know the risk didn't start today – but it may be higher right now. So what do you do if you're stopped at the airport?

You don't need to panic – but you do need to be prepared.
