For those of you with pending cases or awaiting hearings at the New York City Immigration Court at 26 Federal Plaza, please note the Court remains closed for non-detained hearings through June 11, 2021.

EOIR Operational Status Update

As previously announced, certain immigration courts have resumed non-detained hearings. Hearings in non-detained cases at courts without an announced date are postponed through June 11, 2021.

Ya pueden aplicar para el estatus temporal que se llama TPS. Los permisos de trabajo que emitira inmigracion tendran fecha de vencimiento de 9 de Septiembre del 2022. El tiempo de registro para el TPS es solo entre 9 de Marzo 2021 y 5 de Septiembre 2021. Si no se registran durante este tiempo es posible que no tengan la oportunidad a este estatus. Attention Venezuelan nationals! The Biden Administration announced its intention to grant temporary protected status to certain Venezuelan nationals. This is great news! You may recall that former President Trump granted deferred enforced departure to certain Venezuelans on the day before he left office; however, temporary protected status has far more benefits.

Attention H-1B Visa Candidates and Employers:

USCIS announced that the effective date of the H-1B selection final rule, which would have drastically changed the manner in which individuals qualify for the H-1B professional work visa, will be delayed until December 31, 2021. Therefore, the prior regulations remain in place. For the upcoming H-1B cap season the initial registration period begins a Noon on March 9, 2021, and ends on Noon, March 25, 2021.
