On this day 22 years ago (September 11, 2001), 2,977 people lost their lives in a terrorist attack that changed our lives forever.

Two planes struck the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York.

The first hit the North Tower at 08:46 Eastern Time (12:46 GMT). The second crashed into the South Tower at 09:03.

The buildings were set on fire, trapping people on the upper floors, and covering the city in smoke. In less than two hours, both 110-story towers collapsed in massive clouds of dust.

At 09:37 the third plane destroyed the western face of the Pentagon - in our nation's capital, Washington DC.

The fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania at 10:03 after passengers fought back. It is thought the hijackers had meant to attack the Capitol Building in Washington DC.

These memories are forever etched in our minds. On this day, we vowed to never forget. Let us look back today and remember the courage, acts of kindness and compassion to our fellow man that occurred after that tragedy. We came together as one people and one voice. Our resilience guided us through those dark hours.

Let us always remember the brave first responders who ran into those crumbling buildings and blazing fires to save those who were trapped. Many sacrificed their lives.

Never forget the spirit of unity that came out of this tragedy. People from all walks of life, there was no division or barriers. We united in our common struggle. We became one people, all united. We drew strength from our humanity.

Let us remember and pray for those loved ones lost on this day. These attacks took 2,977 men, women, and children. πŸ™

Remember the lessons we learned from this tragedy. Remember each day is precious and a gift. β€πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ€

Nurses are angels with stethoscopes. Nursing is not for everyone. It takes a special kind of person to be a nurse. We are there at all stages of life. We can heal the heart, mind, soul, and body of our patients. Even though they may not remember our name, they will never forget the way we made them feel while under our care.

Nurses are the heart of healthcare. πŸ’“

We chose to dedicate our lives to the care of others. Being a nurse is not just what I do, it is what I AM!
