The TuscBDD team sat down with a local employer and a recent hire who utilizes TuscBDD Employment Navigation services. Mecca Moulton (37) has been working at Dutch Valley Restaurant as a dish washer for a few months now. We were excited to learn that not only does Mecca really enjoy her job, but her coworkers really enjoy working with her! Outside of work, Mecca’s hobbies include painting and spending time with her family. She is surrounded by people who care about her, including her new fiancé.

Learn more about Mecca's story by reading the press release at https://www.tuscbdd.org/News.php.

Congratulations!!!

🚀❤️ CONGRATULATIONS, ROCKETS! ❤️🚀

There are truly no words big enough to capture what Summer Games means.

It is personal bests and tired bodies.
It is dance parties in dorm hallways, laughter that fills the room, and tears of every variety.
It is new friendships made, old friendships strengthened, new goals achieved, and new roads traveled...literally and figuratively.
It is boppy unicorn races, last-minute scrambling, adapting on the fly, cheering until our voices are gone, and watching our athletes shine in ways that remind us exactly why we do this.

It is exhaustion...but the good kind.
The kind that comes from giving everything you have.
The kind that leaves your heart full.

In 2016, Tuscarawas County Special Olympics took a total delegation of around 30 people to Summer Games.

This year, we took around 90.

The Rockets are GROWING. 🚀

And that growth is a direct reflection of something incredibly special...our amazing community, our dedicated and selfless coaches, our awesome athletes, and our supportive families and caregivers. Every donation, every volunteer hour, every ride, every practice, every packed bag, every encouraging word, every cheer from the stands...it all matters.

We will do our best to share the videos, pictures, memories, medals, moments, and magic from this weekend. But please know this:

What happened at Summer Games was bigger than competition.

It was belonging.
It was courage.
It was joy.
It was family.
It was love in motion.

We are incredibly blessed to be part of something so very special.

And, while we have so much more to share from our AMAZING Summer Games experience, we wanted to put up our unofficial medal count and some other highlights from such an incredible weekend!

Congratulations, Rockets. You represented Tuscarawas County with heart, grit, sportsmanship, and pride.

One Team. One Family. Rockets Proud! 🚀❤️
