Compass is suing Zillow. Why? Zillow enacted a new rule: If your home is marketed publicly, it must be put on the MLS (and then Zillow) within 24 hours of that public marketing. If not, Zillow will ban the listing from their portal. This is big news as Zillow is the most used real estate portal. Less eyes - less offers is the thinking.

Compass says this rule takes away options for sellers and makes Zillow more powerful. Zillow says it’s about fairness for buyers.
