Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 268 Section 34. 'Whoever disguises himself with intent to obstruct the due ex*****on of the law,

or to intimidate, hinder or interrupt an officer or other person in the lawful performance of his duty,

or in the exercise of his rights under the constitution or laws of the commonwealth,

whether such intent is effected or not, shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than one year and may if imprisoned also be bound to good behavior for one year after the expiration of such imprisonment. '

A corporation' is an abstraction created by state laws that allows real people to take money from other real people but avoid personal responsibility for the actions of the 'corporation'-which actions result from the decisions that the real people make. Legal "fiction" (something not actually true) treats 'corporations ' as a 'person' . Common sense tells us a 'corporation' is not a human being.

If a doctor or lawyer behaves like Wells Fargo they lose their license. If a liquor store serves minors it loses it's license. Simply fining a corporation for misconduct is no real deterrent. They just pay it off with the money they take from others. Corporations that engage in criminal depravities like this should have their license revoked and their assets forfeited ---other criminals are subject to asset forfeiture laws which entail seizure of money/property illegally obtained

The wise guys who think up these depravities should be imprisoned--that would be real deterrence. The law can provide for refunds to stockholders of what they paid in and the balance of the money that the government takes in from selling off the assets of the corporation can go to useful things like highways , public charity, or (hell freezes over) lower taxes.

On their way to get married, a young couple is involved in a fatal car accident. They find themselves sitting outside the Pearly Gates waiting for St. Peter. While waiting, they begin to wonder: Could the get married in Heaven? When St. Peter shows up, they asked him.

St. Peter says, "I don't know. This is the first time anyone has asked. Let me go find out," and he left.

The couple sat and waited, and waited. Two months passed and the couple were still waiting. While waiting, they began to wonder what would happen if it didn't work out; could you get a divorce in heaven?

After yet another month, St. Peter finally returned, looking somewhat bedraggled. "Yes," he informed the couple, "You can get married in Heaven."

"Great!" said the couple, "But we were just wondering, what if things don't work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?"

St. Peter, red-faced with anger, slammed his clipboard onto the ground. "What's wrong?" asked the frightened couple. "OH, COME ON!," St. Peter shouted, "It took me three months to find a priest up here! Do you have any idea how long it'll take me to find a lawyer?"
