Benjamin Flaherty, originally from Lockport, New York, joined LTKE Law seven months ago. After completing his undergraduate studies at at SUNY Geneseo near Rochester, New York, he attended Quinnipiac University School of Law — a school well‑represented throughout LTKE’s halls.

Ben began his legal career in Hartford, working in civil defense litigation with Varunes, Estabrook & Associates. When an opportunity opened at LTKE for a matrimonial and family law position, he made the transition, drawn to the meaningful and forward‑focused nature of the work.

Ben defines family law as guiding people through one of the most difficult periods of their lives and helping them build something new — a new parenting structure, a new living arrangement, and ultimately a new future. Unlike other areas of law that focus on correcting past mistakes, he sees family law as uniquely constructive. He views the role of a family‑law attorney as both an honor and a responsibility, especially when advocating for clients who are often anxious, overwhelmed, and facing rapid life changes.

His client philosophy centers on a client‑driven approach supported by honest guidance. Ben lays out all available options, offers his perspective, and empowers clients to make informed decisions. He believes tough love is sometimes necessary, particularly when emotions run high, but always delivered with empathy and clarity.

Ben speaks highly of LTKE Law’s culture, describing it as a genuinely supportive and close‑knit environment. He values the daily interactions with colleagues across different ages and backgrounds, noting how refreshing it is to work in a place where personal connections matter as much as professional collaboration.

Looking ahead, Ben is committed to growing within LTKE Law and serving clients with dedication. He emphasizes that the firm is ready and willing to listen, support, and help clients move forward: “Let’s get the ball moving. Let’s build you a better tomorrow.”

There’s something special about watching a legacy continue — not because someone pushed it, but because it grew naturally. Richard Lynch is a reminder of how powerful family, community, and hard work can be.

Richard didn’t set out to follow in his father’s footsteps. In fact, he rebelled — heading into marine science, working in the Bahamas, test‑driving boats in Florida, and carving out his own path. But life has a way of circling back. When he realized marine science wasn’t a career, for him, he looked homeward and saw the law firm his father built from scratch in the 1950s — a place rooted in loyalty, grit, and service.

His father had been an FBI agent, traveling the country before returning to Connecticut to open a small office on Temple Street. Over time, he brought in partners like Steve Traub, Hugh Keefe, and Steve Errante building one of the most respected teams in Southern Connecticut. Richard grew up watching his father help people — answering questions, solving problems, treating every client with dignity. That stuck with him.

When Richard joined the firm in the 1980s, nothing was handed to him. Despite his last name, he started at the bottom — doing Saturday snack runs, taking the toughest assignments, and earning every bit of respect. His father stayed hands‑off, letting the other partners shape him. That humility and toughness became the foundation of his career.

Over the years, Richard worked in real estate, workers’ comp, domestic cases, and eventually criminal defense — where he handled major cases, including a challenging attempted‑murder trial in Bridgeport Superior Court. He prevailed in a case where everything seemed stacked against him, relying on preparation, flexibility, and the belief that everyone deserves a fair defense.

But ask him what he’s most proud of, and he doesn’t talk about the courtroom. He talks about the people. The mentors who guided him. The clients who trusted him. The community that supported the firm for decades.

Richard’s commitment to community goes far beyond the office. For years, he played on an over‑30 soccer team that grew into an over‑40 and then over‑50 group. Even after an ACL injury benched him at 60, the team stayed connected. Together, they created a charitable trust with the Guilford Foundation, raising money and donating to local organizations. They still meet, still laugh, and still give back — proving that community isn’t just something you talk about; it’s something you build.

It’s rare to see a career that’s truly a family story — one built on service, resilience, and heart. Richard’s journey is a reminder that the best legacies aren’t inherited. They’re earned.
