Children need to be raised and represented by parents who love them, not by disconnected government officials. When it comes to raising children, parents are better than the government.

The adult relationship ended. But when a child is involved, the court continues to require contact through custody exchanges, parenting apps, school decisions, medical decisions, court hearings, and ongoing child-related communication.

But when child-related contact is misused for control, punishment, harassment, or forced engagement, it becomes post-separation abuse.

This is the part many people do not understand: the child’s continuing relationship with each parent does not revive the adult relationship between the parents. A parent may have a relationship with the child without having the right to control, torment, manipulate, or force continued emotional access to the other parent.

Court-enabled contact is not automatically neutral. When the system forces continued access without recognizing abuse, the court process itself can become the pathway that keeps the victim trapped.

This is why we must stop labeling every case as “high conflict.” Sometimes it is not conflict. Sometimes it is one parent using the child, the court system, and parenting obligations to continue abuse after the relationship has ended.

Post-separation abuse is real. Court-enabled contact can become court-enabled harm.

Awareness is the first step. Reform is the solution. Protecting Victims and Children are the reason.

Most people think abuse has to be loud before they are allowed to call it abuse. They think if someone is not screaming, threatening, mocking, name-calling, or openly controlling you, then maybe it is not that serious. Maybe you are overreacting. Maybe you are too sensitive. Maybe you are imagining things.

But that is exactly how narcissistic abuse survives. Because abuse is not always loud. Sometimes it is the silent treatment for days. Sometimes it is withholding affection and treating you like a roommate, not a partner. Sometimes it is giving one-word answers at home while being warm to everyone else. Sometimes it is punishing you with distance every time you bring up an issue. Sometimes it is making you beg for basic conversation after they hurt you. Sometimes it is acting normal in public, then becoming cold the moment you are alone. Sometimes it is refusing to resolve anything, then blaming your reaction. Sometimes it is only showing closeness when they want something from you.

This is why narcissistic abuse is so confusing. It does not always leave bruises people can see. It leaves confusion, self-doubt, emotional starvation, and a home that never feels emotionally safe. From the outside, the narcissist may look charming, calm, funny, responsible, respected, and completely normal. But behind closed doors, they slowly control the emotional climate, weaken your confidence, and make you question your own reality. And when children are involved, it becomes even more serious.
