One of the most common things we hear is, "I didn't know this program existed." We want to make sure no one misses this opportunity!
Jones County's Urgent Repair Program (URP27) will accept applications September 1β30, 2026, for eligible homeowners who need critical home repairs to address health, safety, or accessibility concerns.
With $165,000 in available funding, the county expects to assist approximately 11 households. Eligible repairs may include:
βοΈ Roof repairs or replacement for failing roofs
βοΈ Heating system repairs or replacement
βοΈ Accessibility modifications (ramps, bathroom improvements, etc.)
βοΈ Other urgent repairs that protect the health and safety of the homeowner
Important Update: Applications are NOT first-come, first-served this year. Instead, all eligible applications submitted during September will be evaluated and ranked based on household need, income, and the urgency of repairs to ensure assistance goes to those facing the greatest health and safety challenges.
You may qualify if you:
π Own and live in your home in Jones County
π Meet income guidelines
β€οΈ Have a qualifying special need
π¨ Have urgent repairs that cannot be addressed through another housing assistance program
π
Application Period: September 1 β September 30, 2026 (by 5:00 p.m.)
If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, please don't assume someone else has already told them. Share this post! Together, we can help ensure these valuable resources reach the residents who need them most.
