Job Description
Eastern North Carolina regional law firm has opening for an experienced litigation paralegal in their New Bern office. Candidates must possess strong writing skills, oral communication skills, computer skills, organizational abilities and the ability to work independently. Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

Draft correspondence, pleadings, and discovery documents
Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and experts
Obtains, reviews and summarizes medical records, employment records and insurance documents at the direction of trial attorneys and has them reviewed by experts as necessary.
Coordinates depositions of all witnesses.
Review and summarize depositions and other discovery materials
Trial preparation, including electronic presentations and witness preparation
Assist attorneys at trial with electronic presentations, coordinating witnesses and managing trial exhibits
Assist with document reviews and productions
Internet research
Docket court filing deadlines and scheduling orders

Legal Billing Specialist

Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma
• 3 years of direct billing or client account work for a law or professional services organization
• Proficiency in Excel and PDF’s
• Experience with accounting systems
• Proficient in e-billing applications
• Accurate proofreader and have strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and is able to take direction well
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff and timekeepers
• Team-oriented and have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

What will your day look like?
• Review and edit timekeeper entries
• Edit, proofread, finalize, and submit invoices to clients
• Maintain an accurate description of all client billing requirements and disseminate to all timekeepers
• For electronically billed clients, prepare and submit LEDES invoices to electronic vendor sites
• Banking Management and Reconciliation of Operating and Trust accounts
• Audit reporting
