They might have their agents bombard you with phone calls immediately after an accident, offer rides to treatment facilities, or approach you in your hospital room. My client sustained serious injuries when his chair broke to pieces after he sat on it at a popular chain restaurant. Although the defense argued that his excessive weight was what caused the break, we presented evidence showing that he was within normal range for an American male and that the chair was defective. A confidential settlement was reached before trial.

This client was hit while driving for work. Workers' comp will pay medical bills and lost wages for injuries sustained while working. What people don't always realize is that you can ALSO make a claim against the at fault party for damages. I obtained a policy limits ($50,000) pay out for this client on top of what workers' comp paid him. If you're in an accident while on the job, always talk to an experienced attorney.

This man was driving a work truck when he was hit and badly injured. You can still recover against an at-fault driver even if the accident happened while you were working and the accident is covered by workers’ comp.

Client question: Why should I hire you? I can negotiate the case myself and not have to give you 1/3rd.
Answer: Statistically, a lawyer is going to get you a much higher settlement amount than you could get on your own. Even with the 1/3rd attorney fee, you will end up with more in your pocket than you could get by yourself. Insurance companies pay less when you're not represented.
