O'Connell Law LLC

O'Connell Law LLC We are a law firm focusing on Wills & Trusts, Elder Law (Including MassHealth Applications), and Prob

Here are somethings to know about us:

1) When one thinks of a law firm they imagine suits, big desks, intimidating surroundings, and overall stuffiness. We work hard at being the very opposite of that and to be "normal" people who just happen to have some helpful skill sets. At the end of the day, our goal is not to impress you with fancy offices and clothes. Our goal is to help you solve your pr

oblems and give you peace of mind.
2) Being attorneys and staff members at O'Connell Law is something we take pride in and know is important. But we also know that it does not compare with the importance and gratification of being committed partners, parents, and daughters. Our virtual setting is allowing us to balance these roles in a way that works best for our families and also our clients and their loved ones.
3) We truly understand that conversations about death, sickness, money, and family can be difficult because we have been in our client's shoes. We have had to do our own planning, we have gotten sick, our family members have gotten sick, and we have lost loved ones. Because of this, it is so important for us to create a space which is inviting and warm for these conversations to happen, information to be shared clearly, and for us to use plain-language to make things easy to understand for our clients and their families.
4) Legal services can often be expensive and we work hard to control costs, use flat fees, and provide flexible payment arrangements.

Clearly defined roles ensure decisions are handled efficiently when needed. 📋

✅ Executor (manages estate after death)
✅ Trustee (manages trust assets)
✅ Financial agent (handles money/finances)
✅ Healthcare agent (makes medical decisions)

Without clear role assignments, confusion and delays happen during critical moments. Each role carries specific responsibilities that should be clearly documented.

Visit www.oconnelllawgroup.com or call O'Connell Law at (508) 202-1818 to assign roles properly.

Did You Know? 💼 A trust can be structured to manage both income and principal separately for beneficiaries.

Instead of one lump-sum distribution, you can direct a trustee to pay beneficiaries income while preserving principal for future generations. This protects spendthrift beneficiaries while providing ongoing financial support.

Customized trust terms let you control exactly how and when assets are distributed.

Call O'Connell Law at (508) 202-1818 to design a trust structure that fits your family.

Did You Know? 📋 Legal authority to make decisions must be clearly documented to be recognized by financial institutions.

Banks, investment firms, and healthcare providers won't honor informal verbal agreements. Powers of attorney, healthcare proxies, and advance directives must be properly signed and notarized to carry legal weight.

Proper documentation ensures your chosen representatives can act immediately when needed.

Contact O'Connell Law at (508) 202-1818 to ensure your documents are legally recognized.
