**Day 1: Introduction to Homesteading & Natural Living**
→ Make homemade **vanilla extract**
→ Blend **custom spice mixes**
→ Create homemade **salad dressing** (used at lunch!)

**Day 2: Preserving the Harvest**
→ Make **strawberry jam** (canned)
→ Learn about **freeze-drying** foods

**Day 3: Home Dairy**
→ Feed baby calves & assist with **cow milking**
→ Make and take home: **butter**, **vanilla ice cream**, **yogurt**, **soft cheese**

**Day 4: Bread Baking**
→ Learn about healthy grains & **sourdough**
→ Bake and take home: **sourdough bread**, **hamburger buns**, **hot dog buns**

**Day 5: Animal Husbandry & Beekeeping**
→ Learn to care for **chickens, cows & other animals**
→ Taste **raw honey** & explore **beeswax** uses
→ 🐝 **No hive-opening, no butchering — all projects are safe & fun!**

**Day 6: Gardening Principles & Soil Building**
→ Learn how to start and plan a garden
→ Plant **seedlings** to take home
→ Dry **herbs**
→ Make **sauerkraut**

**Day 7: Building a Home Apothecary**
→ Make **elderberry syrup**
→ Craft a gentle **herbal tincture**
→ Create an **herbal salve**
→ Blend an **herbal tea**

**Day 8: Pickling, Fermenting & Relishes**
→ Finish & package **sauerkraut**
→ Make **bread & butter OR dill pickles**
→ Make **sweet or dill relish**
→ Take home a jar of each!

Meet our office manager/ legal assistant, Dawn Gorham. Dawn is a retired deputy clerk of the Davidson County Circuit Court Clerk’s office where she spent 23 years and a former deputy clerk of the Benton County Circuit Court Clerk’s office.

She is the wife of attorney, Tee Gorham and she is also a mom, mimi, public speaker, podcaster, singer/songwriter and business owner of The Gorham Homestead where she produces natural, healthy food for her community and teaches people old-fashioned skills. Dawn has a passion for helping people and shows that both in the office and in her own personal endeavors.

She has been dabbling part time behind the scenes for a few months learning the ropes but will be coming on full time sometime in May. You will likely be communicating with her at times and we think you will love her.

Looks like Peter Cottontail hopped into some trouble this Easter season! 🥚🐇 After a wild egg hunt gone wrong on Easter Sunday, he found himself on the wrong side of the law and landed in bunny jail. But fear not, folks! Even furry friends like Peter know their rights, thanks to his trusty attorney, the Easter Bunny's legal counsel, Tee Gorham.
