As my friend Mandy Topher Hoffman said I never considered myself a fan of Queen but…
Mandy mentioned that she was doing f a local Rock Chorus in Nashua that she was joining and was soliciting friends to join and I have always pictured myself spending my senior years (not there yet) singing in a community chorus. So went. The first day I had a long and crappy day at work and didn’t feel like going. I reached out to Mandy she said there’d be no guilt if I waited until next but that it might make me feel better. It did. It was so fun. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The whole group was new to this group although many of these people are Uber talented and have some great credentials and musical chops.
Reading music is hard for me but luckily I am singing and not playing. I learned so much as an Alto 1 and I love the alto section especially. Most of the songs were familiar and some I really really loved right away and the others have grown on me. In learning how to really sing these songs the way they were intended, I am able to put the stress of the day aside, learn new things, create new synapses in my brain and having a great time with new friends.
Thanks to Queen, Rock Voices, Rock Voices USA, Rock Voices Nashua and Leon Grande
