Very pleased to announce our appellate victory in the Illinois Supreme Court today in Passafiume v. Jurak, No. 2024 IL 129761. The Third District of the Appellate Court, which affirmed the circuit court's judgment entered on a $1.7 million jury verdict, was affirmed. Supreme Court held that a plaintiff's marriage (following the death of his deceased wife) does not affect the damages recoverable for the loss of the decedent's material (household) services under the Wrongful Death Act.
