Did you know that refusing a DUI breath or blood test in Illinois actually puts your driver’s license at risk for *longer* than if you just fail it?

If you refuse the test, you’re facing a mandatory 12-month license suspension (even if you’re never convicted). Fail the test? It’s 6 months: half as long. Why? Illinois has strict "implied consent" laws, so just by driving, you agree to chemical testing if stopped for DUI. Refusing triggers harsher penalties regardless of guilt or innocence.
