Have you had enough home inspectors that talk too much to your clients, go beyond their area of expertise, scare the clients with terminology they don’t understand, and bust the deal for you? We’ve all worked with “that guy”. The one who can’t stop babbling about a defect to the point that it makes the clients feel like the house is going to burn down or fall down as soon as they move in.
At Sherlock Homes Inspection we understand that how we speak to your clients is just as important as what we say to them. Some inspectors can note “typical cracks” in a driveway on the report and then when they present to your clients, they are left wondering if the driveway is even going to be there a year from now. Certainly, you and your clients want to be made aware of any defects found in the home. You, the realtor, have no doubt already told the clients that no home is perfect—even new construction—and it’s my job to reassure the clients that their realtor knows what they are doing. The driveway WILL be there a year from now, probably fifty years from now. “Typical cracks” will be noted on the report but not spoken to in the summary—they are typical cracks, nearly every driveway has them.
So next time you’ve “had it up to here” with your current inspector sabotaging your efforts, give us an opportunity to perform a good, reliable, and complete inspection on your next transaction. And for allowing us the opportunity to work with you, we will give you $25 off your first inspection with SHI. We can also help by scheduling termite and/or septic inspection to coincide with the time we’ll be performing our inspection if you’d like. We can also do appointments starting as late as 5 p.m., weeknights and some weekend appointments. (Both of these by special appointment only.) We service all of the OKC Metro area-- Shawnee to El Reno; Guthrie to Noble, and everything in-between.
