Kentucky’s driver’s license system is broken — and I see the fallout every single day in my law practice.

As a criminal defense and DUI attorney in Calloway, Marshall, and Trigg Counties, I deal daily with clients who can’t get licenses renewed, can’t obtain permits, and can’t fix suspensions because everything was shoved into distant regional offices. That hurts working families, seniors, employers, and rural communities.

That’s why I support HB 162 — restoring full driver’s license services back to local Circuit Clerks where people can actually get help.

More government overlap doesn’t mean better service. It means longer waits, more confusion, lost jobs, missed court deadlines, and unnecessary legal problems.

Local access works. Centralized bureaucracy doesn’t.

If you’ve ever dealt with a suspended license, DUI issue, reinstatement problem, or court-related driving restriction — you already know this system needs fixing.
