Things That Get Harder to Manage as We Age

Be honest… what’s one thing in your home that’s getting harder to manage?

Maybe it’s the stairs.
Or the yard work.
Or keeping up with maintenance on a larger space than you really need.

For many homeowners 55+, it’s not one big issue — it’s a collection of small things that slowly start to add up.

And those small frustrations can be helpful signals. Not that something is wrong — but that your home may not be working for you the way it used to.

Some of the most common ones I hear include:
🏡 Too many stairs or levels
🧰 Ongoing maintenance and repairs
🌿 Yard work or exterior upkeep
📦 Extra rooms that aren’t being used
🚗 Distance from family, shopping, or healthcare

When you notice these changes early, you have more time, more options, and more control over what comes next.

Kid Rock’s hilltop mansion just outside Nashville is one of those places that catches people completely off guard the first time they see it. It feels out of place at first glance, but somehow still fits the larger-than-life personality Nashville is known for.

This is not a public attraction, but it has become a well-known sight for those exploring just outside the city. Tourists often go out of their way hoping to catch a glimpse, while locals tend to take it in stride. It is one of those landmarks that sparks a quick laugh or a story, especially for people seeing it for the first time.

A few helpful things to know:

* Best viewed from a distance while passing through the area
