One thing I never want is for you to leave a conversation with me more confused than when we started.

You may not know trademark law. You may not know what needs to go in a contract. You may not know what to do after a car wreck. You may not even know the right question to ask yet.

That’s okay. I do.

Part of my job is making sure you understand enough to make good decisions about what belongs to you, what you deserve, and what you’re building.

Apparently, my clients have noticed.

I talk often about the importance of community and being in spaces where we see and understand one another. What I didn’t realize was how much I needed that very thing in this moment.

Being at the National Bar Association Convention was refreshing in a way I didn’t expect. There’s something about being surrounded by people who understand the weight, the responsibility, the wins, and everything in between without much explanation.

I left feeling poured into, reenergized, and reminded that sometimes the spaces we advocate for are the same spaces we need for ourselves.

And yes, a good time was absolutely had along the way. 🤎

Attendee: I had a tax client that didn’t pay me after I did the work. When I provided the tax return for their review, I got crickets.

Me: What did your contract say about when you were to get paid?

Attendee: When the client signed the tax filing. (Or approved it - one of these was the response)

Me: Common practice doesn’t work in every scenario. Questions to ask yourself. Could you have considered a deposit? How often does this happen? Was this a new client with no established relationship? When you identify an issue it’s time to consider future risks. *insert audio from video*

Contracts are not one size fit all. That said, every contract should be reviewed and drafted in the best interest of you and your business.

I often ask strategy questions when drafting contracts because I need to understand your business and how you work with clients. This is one way I ensure I draft a contract that is legally sound, fair, and, most importantly, protects you.

Have your contracts been reviewed recently?

Last Friday I attended the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association trucking seminar and it was time well spent. Even if it meant spending 8 hours learning on a Friday. 🫠

I learned a lot and picked up strategies I can use to continue building strong cases for my clients. Making sure my clients are in the best position to get the financial justice they deserve is always the goal.

It’s always good to connect and learn alongside other attorneys who are committed to the work.

Getting paid shouldn’t feel like a follow-up task.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
If your contract isn’t clear on payment terms, you’re creating room for delays, confusion, and excuses—and that’s not a strategy.

⁣⁣⁣
If you’re tired of chasing payments, let’s fix that.

⁣⁣⁣
You’re not my client (yet), so this isn’t legal advice, but I’ll share insights to help you move smarter and reduce the risk of expensive mistakes.⁣⁣⁣

Are you a business owner?

You’ve been building something real. Putting your name out there. Creating visibility. Making moves.⁣

But let me ask you this—have you actually secured it?⁣

Because too many people are out here growing brands they don’t legally own. And everything feels good… until it doesn’t. Until someone else files first. Until you get that letter. Until you realize the foundation wasn’t as solid as you thought.⁣

That’s why our Discovery Call is offered.

Not as a pitch. Not as a rushed conversation. But as a space where you can get clarity.⁣

For 30 minutes, we’re talking through your brand—what you have, what you need, and what could potentially stand in your way. You’ll walk away understanding how trademarks actually work and what your next step should be, whether that’s with us or not.⁣

This is the part people skip.⁣
And it’s the part that costs them later.⁣

Details:⁣
• 30-minute one-on-one call⁣
• $50 investment⁣
• Real guidance you can use immediately⁣

If your brand matters to you, protecting it has to be part of the plan.⁣

Send us a DM or email so we can get you on the calendar. ⁣
