Attorney Brandon Murphy will be before the Indiana Supreme Court tomorrow, May 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., to argue the case of State v. Bosworth.

The Court summarizes the case this way: Police obtained a third-party search warrant for records from Meta after receiving reports that child sexual abuse materials had been sent on Instagram. Police executed the warrant fourteen days later, which exceeded the ten-day constraint in Indiana Code section 35-33-5-7(b). The Blackford Circuit Court admitted the Meta records over Bosworth’s objection. The trial court found Bosworth guilty on all charges and sentenced him to an aggregate sixty-four years. The Court of Appeals affirmed. Bosworth v. State, 274 N.E.3d 490 (Ind. Ct. App. 2025), trans. pending. Bosworth has petitioned the Indiana Supreme Court to assume jurisdiction over the appeal.

It was my privilege to defend this case and to see our client walk out of the Delaware County Jail after over two years in custody. We thank the jury for honoring the presumption of innocence, and their careful consideration of the evidence.

Co-defendant Adonis Logan last year pleaded guilty to murder in the September 2023 shooting death of 55-year-old Jack Simpson in a north-side Muncie apartment.
