Whitfield & Eddy Law is celebrating the federal Juneteenth holiday on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. This federal holiday celebrates the order that was issued by Union General Gordon Granger of emancipation of all enslaved African-Americans on June 19, 1865, upon arriving at Galveston, Texas, at the end of the American Civil War. This order was issued two-and-a-half years after the original issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation by President Lincoln. All firm employees will have the day as a paid holiday.
