Today is Black Women’s Equal Pay Day. Black cisgendered women typically earn $0.62 cents for every dollar that a non-Hispanic white cisgendered man makes, making TODAY the day a black woman would have to work until to earn the same as a white man earned in 2019. Happy Birthday to the great Amelia Earhart! Earhart was a record-breaking pilot and author, becoming the first female aviator to navigate a solo flight across the Atlantic. She was also an early supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment, and was a member of Alice Paul's National Woman's Party.
