⚡️ House Renovation Checklist: Don’t Forget the Details!
When you’re flipping a house or tackling a major renovation, getting the aesthetic right is only half the battle. The real value is in the safety and functionality that happens behind the drywall! 🛠️🏠

At Elevate Inspection Group, we love seeing refreshed homes, but we also look for those "finish line" shortcuts that can cause headaches for future homeowners.

In this video, we’re showing a common find: the floating outlet. 🔌🚫
It looks great with the new cover plate on, but without being properly secured to the electrical box, it pushes right into the wall when you try to plug something in. This doesn’t just damage your beautiful new trim and plates—it can lead to loose wiring and safety risks over time.

Our advice for renovators:
✅ Ensure all electrical boxes are flush and secure.
✅ Verify that outlets are firmly mounted before the plates go on.
✅ Double-check that every "new" outlet is properly grounded!

We’re here to make sure that "Sally Homeowner" can move in and plug in her coffee maker without a hitch. Do it right the first time, and your buyers will thank you!

🌡️ See the Unseen: Thermal Imaging in Action
At Elevate Inspection Group, we believe that what you can’t see matters just as much as what you can. That’s why we use thermal imaging to verify that your home’s systems are performing at their best! 🕵️‍♀️✨

In this clip, we’re checking the HVAC registers. We’re looking for a healthy "temperature differential"—the difference between the room's air and the air coming out of your vents.

In this home, we’re seeing a 20-degree drop from the room temperature, which is a sign of superior cooling performance! ❄️ Maintaining this balance not only keeps you comfortable but also ensures your system isn't overworking, saving you money on energy bills in the long run.

Whether it’s checking for hidden insulation gaps or ensuring your AC is ready for the summer heat, we’ve got the tools to give you the full picture.

Ready to see your home in a new light? Contact us today to schedule your inspection!

❄️ Can we inspect an AC in the winter?
It’s a question we get all the time! When we arrive at a home in the colder months, we often find the AC unit bundled up for the season. 🧤

The short answer: We can still do a lot, but we can't do everything.

In this video, we’re showing you exactly what’s possible:
✅ The "Unveiling": We can remove the cover to get a good look at the unit.
✅ Fins & Shell: We check for physical damage, hail dents, or debris buildup that could affect performance.
✅ The Data Tag: We read the manufacturer's tag to determine the age and size of the unit.

The catch? We generally cannot turn the unit on if the outside temperature has been below 65°F (18°C) in the last 24 hours. Testing an AC in freezing temperatures can actually damage the compressor. 🛑

At Elevate Inspection Group, we prioritize thoroughness and safety. We’ll give you the full story on the unit's condition and age, even if the weather won't let us hit the "on" switch just yet.

Planning a winter move? Let us help you navigate the cold-weather "unknowns" with confidence!

🕵️‍♂️ Vintage Mystery: The In-Wall Incinerator
Ever walked into an older home and spotted something that looks like it belongs in a museum? 🏛️

This is a vintage in-wall incinerator. While these were once the height of convenience for waste disposal, they are now rare finds that require a careful eye. Because many of these units are no longer in use—and can even pose safety or fire hazards if not properly sealed or maintained—identifying their condition is a top priority during our inspections.

At Elevate Inspection Group, we love the character of historic homes, but we prioritize your safety above all else. Whether it’s modern tech or a "Detroit" classic like this one, we make sure you know exactly what’s behind every door and lever.

Old homes have stories to tell, and we’re here to make sure they’re happy ones! 🏠✨

🌊 Drainage: What Lies Beneath?
Ever wonder what that long grate in front of a garage is for? It’s a sub-surface drainage system, designed to keep rainwater from flooding your garage or damaging your home's structure.

As home inspectors, we see these all the time, but here’s the truth: we can’t see what’s happening underground. 🕵️‍♂️

Even if a drain looks clear on the surface, it could be clogged or disconnected further down. That’s why we always recommend asking the current homeowners:

1. When was it last cleaned out? 🧹

2. Does it flow freely during heavy rain? ⛈️

3. Have there been any moisture issues in the garage? 💧

Maintenance is key! Keep those grates clear of debris to ensure your home stays dry.

At Elevate Inspection Group, we’re here to help you ask the right questions so you can buy with confidence. 🏠✨

🍄 Mold: The Uninvited Guest

What’s that growing in the corner? When it comes to your family's health and the air you breathe, "guessing" isn't an option.

In this photo, we’re performing a professional mold test. While a standard home inspection identifies visible issues, a mold test allows us to sample the air or surfaces to find out exactly what’s happening behind the scenes.

At Elevate Inspection Group, we know that mold can often be a symptom of a hidden moisture problem—like a slow leak or poor ventilation. By testing, we provide the data you need to breathe easy and handle any issues before they become major headaches.

Your home should be your safe haven. Let us help you ensure the air quality is just as clean as the rest of your house!

When you're buying a home, it's easy to get lost in the excitement of new paint colors and furniture layouts. But what about the parts of the house you can't see?

That's where we come in. As a home inspector, we know that the health of your home's unseen systems is just as important as the state of your roof or foundation.

In this photo, we're showing you the sewer scope we use to perform a detailed inspection of the property's sewer line. This is a crucial step in understanding the overall condition of the plumbing and preventing costly surprises down the road.

A sewer line issue can be a major headache, but with a thorough inspection, you can make an informed decision about your purchase and negotiate repairs if needed.

Don't let the unknown create unnecessary stress. Contact Elevate Inspection Group today to schedule your comprehensive home inspection. We're here to help you move forward with confidence.
