A Virginia Beach woman is stressing the importance of estate planning after losing her dad two years ago. Danyiele Peterson says while he did have some plans in place for after his death, he lacked a will or a trust. She recalled the complicated task of sorting through assets and accounts while grieving.

To prevent similar challenges for her loved ones, Peterson created a trust outlining all her wishes: "It's actually very comforting in a sense that I know my husband and son — they don't have to wonder," she said.

Creating a Will is important as your Will makes sure that your detailed wishes are followed for those left behind. It’s very important to have a Will with a Trust if you have children or own property (land).
