A Trump-appointed judge in Texas struck down the Biden administration's overtime rule requiring employees earning a salary less than $43,888 a year to be automatically eligible to earn overtime. It was set to increase to $58,656 on January 1, 2025. As a result of the Trump judge's ruling, the salary level will go back to $35,568.

The overtime rule would have made more than 4 million workers newly eligible to earn overtime on Jan. 1. Then a federal judge in Texas said the Biden administration had gone too far.
