At the end of last month, Alexa spoke with fellow panelists on the current state of filmmaking at Comic-Con International in beautiful, sunny San Diego. The energy was electric, and it was a pleasure to meet so many of you at the panel, on the convention floor, and in lines between events. We're proud to share that Alexa Whiteside, our Founder, CEO & Managing Partner, has been elected as a Board Member to the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Board of Governors.

The election took place at the NCBA Annual Meeting in Charlotte this past weekend, where Alexa was one of seven new board members named. She'll serve a 3-year term beginning in 2026-2027.

This appointment continues a run of NCBA leadership Alexa has held since relocating to North Carolina in 2019, including Co-Chair of the Pro Bono Committee and Section Chair of the NCBA Sports & Entertainment Law Section.

Congratulations, Alexa! We're grateful for your service to the North Carolina legal community and excited for what this term brings.

OK Tribeca, you understood the assignment.
A week of screenings, talks, and conversations that actually went somewhere. And the city showed up for it. Knicks in 5, Emmy season heating up, the World Cup, all happening at once. NYC was so back!
Ended the week at Tribeca X in a room full of creatives, executives, and the people building what's next. That energy is staying with us.

Big news to share! Our Founder, CEO & Managing Partner Alexa M. Whiteside has been named in the 2026 Lawdragon 500 X: The Next Generation, recognized for her work in Entertainment, Intellectual Property, & Media.

WAM Entertainment Law just turned one, and we are so grateful for every client, partner, and connection who made this first year possible!

From Sundance to Tribeca to SXSW and beyond, the firm showed up across the country at six festivals and markets this year. Alexa spoke on panels with NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, the Alliance of Women Directors, Breaking Into Hollywood, and the Sports and Entertainment Risk Management Association. The firm was also honored with a Super Lawyers Rising Star nomination, an American Bar Foundation Fellowship nomination, and a feature in Chambers and Partners' 2026 Chambers Spotlight North Carolina.

Looking ahead to year two, we are excited to announce an of counsel relationship with entertainment attorney Danielle S.
