NEAT North East Advocates Together North East Advocates Together The creative part is that we use the internet to communicate. Together they designed this project.

This project supports Self- Advocates with intellectual and developmental disabilities to teach each other to organize self-advocacy activities and to share knowledge. Six Self-Advocacy Organizations of the northeastern United States have come together as NEAT (North East Advocates Together). Peer leaders from each state have been elected to be on the NEAT Regional Advisory Committee. They are responsible for directing the project and supporting the coordinators.

Here is what you can say if someone asks you. "If I already had COVID-19, do I still need the vaccine?" These answers can be used to support and encourage people with and without disabilities to get their COVID-19 vaccine. The Susan M. Daniels Disability Mentoring Hall of Fame is honoring MAX BARROWS for making a significant difference in the lives of youth and adults with disabilities through mentoring. The honor is given each year to 50 people with disabilities for raising awareness about the importance of mentoring for individuals with disabilities.

News about the Stimulus Payments for people who get SSI. On APril 15, 2020 the IRS finally decided you do not have to sign up to get your payment. The press release is on this link

Good News! People who get SSI do NOT have to sign up to get the $1.200! The money will be put in your bank account just like everyone else. Click on this link for all the details! FYI - the $1,200 is called Economic Impact Payment. It will NOT mess up your SSI benefits. You have 1 year to spend the $1,200 or save it in an ABLE account. One more detail - if you have children please read the details to see how you can sign up for their payments.
