On September 19,2025 President Trump announced a proclamation requiring a $100,000 fee for H-1B workers entering the U.S. starting 12:01 a.m. September 21, 2025. This applies only to workers outside the U.S. after that date. It does not affect those already inside the U.S., but if you leave after September 21 you may face issues returning. USCIS will not process petitions for workers abroad without proof of payment, but extensions and changes of status. inside the U.S. appear exempt. If you are abroad, return before September 21 if possible. If you are in the U.S., avoid international travel and hold off on travel plans until we have more clarity. The Parikh Law Group is monitoring this situation closely and will continue to provide timely updates. If you have urgent concerns about your individual circumstances, please reach out to us directly at 973-577-6564.
