What a special Memorial Day weekend exploring the heart of Virginia. From walking through the stories and sacrifices preserved at Virginia Museum of History & Culture and touring the historic Virginia State Capitol, to taking in the beauty and grandeur of The Jefferson Hotel, Maymont, and the historic To***co Company Restaurant, Virginia showed off its history, architecture, and charm at every turn.

Then on to championship weekend for the NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship before diving even deeper into presidential history with visits to James Monroe’s Highland and Jefferson’s Monticello.

It was a beautiful DC evening at the Watergate for the DC Trial Lawyers Annual Awards Dinner. I feel so grateful to be presented with the Women’s Caucus Award and to be inducted as an officer to the organization. I feel honored to be in the company of so many incredible awardees last night. ⚖️👩‍💼👩‍🦽‍➡️💃🏽

I’m honored to share that I’ve been elected to the Executive Committee of the DC Trial Lawyers Association.

This vote sets me on a path to ultimately serve as President of an organization that has meant so much to me, both personally and professionally.

When I moved to the DC area after practicing in Atlanta, one of my very first priorities was getting connected with the trial lawyer community here. I knew that if I was going to build a practice in a new jurisdiction, those relationships would matter. What I didn’t expect was how transformative that connection would be. That introduction helped me believe in myself in a bigger way. It gave me the confidence to start my own firm, and over time, to grow into a board member and now into this leadership role.

I’m proud of the work DCTLA does every day to protect the rights of DC residents and to advocate for those who need it most. It is truly an honor to roll into this role and to continue that work alongside so many lawyers I respect.

What a trip to San Antonio for my first ever visit. Someone should have prepped me for the Alamo as it doesn't live up to the hype. Fiesta San Antonio was a blast though, and Ranch Water was the perfect companion. Huge thanks to my favorite Texas trial lawyers, the Help Hope Live staff, and the amazing medical professionals in the spinal cord injury community for making it so memorable. The trip was also a reminder of how grateful I am for opportunities like presenting at the American Spinal Injury Association conference with Dr. Sadowsky who is my personal spinal cord injury doctor! We discussed employment after spinal cord injury and the pathways to independence.

In the earliest days after a spinal cord injury, hope can feel distant. I know that feeling all too well. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to help others find it again.

Watch as I share how I support my clients through those first steps and remind them that a better tomorrow is possible.

I’m honored to share that I’ve become the newest member of the Virginia State Bar.

I’m now officially licensed to practice in Virginia, Georgia, and DC. I’m grateful for every opportunity to continue expanding my reach to serve and advocate for individuals navigating life after spinal cord injury.

While I’m based in the heart of Washington, DC, my practice spans nationwide, and I’m proud to represent clients across the United States.

Thank you for all the support along the way!

Sometimes it is important to get down to the granular reality of what it means to live with a spinal cord injury.

From the outside, many people see someone tall and upright in a wheelchair, but what they do not see are the daily struggles with balance. I have no balance, and that affects me in ways most people would never think about. It shows up in movement, in transitions, and in the everyday act of living.

When I first started boxing, I had nothing around my waist connecting me to my chair. My balance was my biggest barrier. Every time I tried to throw a punch, I would fall over.

Thankfully, with an amazing coach and the people around me, we improvised. We found a way for me to start boxing in a more stabilized position.

Today, this exercise may look simple, and in some ways it is. But it is not really about the punches I am throwing. It is about learning how to move back, avoid a punch, and then come back in for action. I move back to avoid being hit, get back in, throw a punch, and move back out again, over and over.
