In 2026 we welcome five new board members to our board of directors. Today, we're spotlighting Attny. Sam Tooley, Duxstad McDaniel Law Group, SC.

Samuel Tooley is an attorney with Duxstad McDaniel Law Group, S.C. His career began in the United States Air Force, where he served as an Engineering Technician and worked as a map maker and surveyor at Kunsan AFB in the Republic of Korea and later, Whiteman AFB in Missouri, home of the B-2 Spirit Bomber. After completing his service, he became the Geographic Information Systems Manager for the City of Pharr, Texas, serving a community of more than 70,000 residents. He later earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Law and currently works as an attorney at Duxstad McDaniel Law Group.

Throughout his work in both the Air Force and municipal government, Sam gained extensive experience in planning and organizing public events. He helped coordinate air shows, parades, concerts, and holiday celebrations and worked closely with city departments and community groups. In Pharr, these responsibilities extended to events hosted by the city and the city's Economic Development Corporation, giving him a practical understanding of community engagement and large-scale event logistics.

Sam has also been active in professional and volunteer organizations. He served as Vice President of the Rio Grande Valley Arc User Group, where he helped organize conferences and educational opportunities for local cartographers and GIS professionals. While a student at the University of Wisconsin, he contributed to the UW Missing in Action program, which assists in the search for Wisconsin veterans who have not yet been recovered.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys board games and motorcycling and appreciates opportunities to connect with others through shared interests and community involvement.

Please join us in welcoming Sam to the Chamber Board!

DMLG Attorney David Ewert has been selected to serve as supplemental Court Commissioner for Green County. Green County Circuit Court Judges Faun M. Phillipson and Jane E. Bucher made the appointment. Wisconsin Court Commissioners are experienced lawyers appointed by circuit judges to help improve court efficiency. In Green County supplemental court commissioners serve on an “as needed” basis, handling certain cases as directed by the Judge or to cover in their absence. David is filling the position previously held by Monroe attorney Todd Schluesche, who stepped down at the end of 2025. David took his commissioner’s oath on January 5.

WE’RE MOVING! For more than 40 years, the “Duxstad law firm” (which has gone by a lot of names over the years) had its home at 1112 17th Avenue in Monroe. The location served us well, but we have outgrown the space.

After the first of the year, our new home will be in the Monroe Professional Center, 1750 10th Street. This location keeps us in downtown Monroe, which was a must. We will be better equipped to meet with clients, with more meeting space and plenty of free parking both on the street and in a dedicated lot.

To complete the move (and to let our team enjoy the holidays) we will not be scheduling any appointments in Monroe between Christmas Eve and January 4, 2026. We plan on being available for phone calls, but access may be limited as things get carted to our new space.

Our Darlington office – co-located with the Apple River State Bank at 207 Wells Street – will maintain normal operations, but will be closed December 24, 25 and 26 and January 1 and 2 for the holidays.

We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you at our new Monroe home in 2026.

Thank you to all veterans, including two of our very own, Sam Tooley and Dan Bestul.
