We have been hearing that, beginning January 1, 2026, all DUI offenses will be considered felony charges. That is not true in the State of South Carolina.

With that being said, DUI charges are no joke. If convicted, there is a license suspension, a fine, having to pay SR-22 insurance, and the charge will stay on your criminal and driving record.
