Successfully resolving a civil dispute for a client or helping a business achieve its goals is what I enjoy doing for a living.

I grew up in Orlando, Florida. After high school, I went to Livingston University (now the University of West Alabama) on a baseball scholarship. I was there for 5 years. After college, I worked for a family business distributing and selling soft-drinks to grocery stores, convenience stores, and restaurants. I worked in a number of areas of within the company: marketing, sales, negotiating contracts, deliveries, and collections. I experienced first hand some of the challenges businesses face everyday.

When I first started the practice of law, I worked for a mid-sized firm in Mobile. My practice centered on civil litigation matters. I defended lawsuits filed against our clients in the areas of construction matters, product liability claims, auto accidents, and premises liability claims. I also prepared legal opinions regarding the meaning of various insurance policy provisions—commonly referred to as “coverage opinions.” And, I represented insurance companies in various subrogation matters. The bulk of my time, though, involved construction matters. I litigated claims ranging from single story residences to multi-story beach front condominiums.

In 2007, I left that firm and started my own practice. Since that time I have focused on construction and insurance claims, collection matters, business law, and general civil litigation matters. I have litigated multi-plaintiff lawsuits related to construction defect claims, insurance coverage claims, and various collection claims. I have participated in jury trials to verdict in cases involving wrongful death, fraud, construction defects, collection matters, and auto accidents. A good portion of my practice also involves representing businesses with regular legal support for their day-to-day needs. I enjoy learning about my clients' business operations, which span a number of different industries, and stand ready to address their concerns as they may arise. My wife, daughter and I live in downtown Mobile and we spend our free time visiting with friends and family, watching college football, and enjoying the outdoors.

Please stay safe during the heavy rains we've been experiencing.

In the event you have suffered Flood Damage--we recommend that you report your loss immediately to your local agent and insurance company. Also, be very aware of the deadlines and procedures that apply to the claim reporting process (found in your insurance policy). Of late, Courts have strictly applied these deadlines and procedures--and, as a result, sometimes a valid claim can be denied because of a technicality (i.e. missed deadline).

Did you know that Hurricane Season begins June 1st!

Here's our first tip to help you prepare:

"Prepare an 'Inventory List' now--not after the storm"

Now is a good time for you to make an inventory of your possessions. If you do not have the time, you can take a video camera / smart phone and do "walk-through" of your home. Video all the rooms and the possessions you have within the rooms. If you have receipts for the high-priced items in your house (like a flat-screen TV, computer, washing machine / dryer, or other appliances), keep them in a safe place so that you can have them available if you need to present evidence of the value of those items at a later date.
