I've been following this with all the questions and conerns I hear regarding the real estate market. Just a reminder that even with rates around 6.5-7% for most folks, today's interest rate is still below the average of 8%.

I attended a talk by Marc King a couple of months ago where he broke down the perceptions of interest rates into two categories. Those under 42 years old and those over 42 years old. WHY? Because people over 42 years old are not scared to buy because they lived through interest rates at 13%, while people under 42 years old have never experienced higher rates and are waiting on the sidelines for super low interest rates that won't happen again in our life time.

You can't predict the market, don't wait on the sidelines to purchase. Purchase what makes sense and either upgrade later or refinance when the time comes. 😉

Home Seller Statistics
The typical home seller in 2024 was 63 years of age, had a median household income of $112,500, and lived in their home for 10 years.
90% of sellers were assisted by a real estate agent when selling their home.
Recent sellers typically sold their homes for 100% of the listing price, and 21% reported reducing the asking price at least once.
38% of sellers who used a real estate agent found their agents through a referral by friends or family, and 28% used the agent they previously worked with to buy or sell a home.
Sellers who definitely would use same agent again: 72%
