This week in our employee spotlight series, we are featuring Rebecca Favre, one of our outstanding law clerks! Rebecca is currently in her third year of law school at Mitchell Hamline and previously received her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Legal Studies at Hamline University.

In her role as a law clerk, Rebecca supports all of the firm's practice areas by conducting legal research, drafting briefs and motions, and assisting with discovery. One of her favorite memories during her time at Eckland & Blando was attending the firm's annual holiday party at the Minneapolis Women's Club. Her favorite skyway lunch spot is Green and the Grain. With her excellent research and writing skills and ability to navigate complex legal issues, Rebecca has quickly become a vital member of our team!

For the next entry in our Spotlight Series, we are featuring one of the firm’s founding partners, Mark Blando. Mark co-founded the firm almost 20 years ago in 2004 and now serves as its Managing Partner. The firm was established with the goal of becoming the preeminent government contract law firm in the Midwest. In addition to achieving that goal, Mark is proud of the growth that the firm has seen over the last two decades – in terms of practice areas, offices across the country, and most of all, the amazing group of dedicated attorneys and staff that make up the Eckland & Blando team.

Mark’s civic duties include serving as the President of the Board of Open Window Theatre and on the Board of Unity Catholic High School, where he also teaches classes in Constitutional Law and Music Theory. Outside of work and non-profit service, Mark enjoys making music with the firm’s fledgling rock band and attempting to continue competing in mud runs.

Mark and his wife Katie are the proud parents of Grace, Lily, Georgia, and Joseph. As an ardent supporter of the arts, Mark encourages everyone to check out Grace’s ballet company in Chicago, Ballet 5:8, and Lily’s original music on Spotify.

We are pleased to announce that Eckland & Blando LLP Partner Vince C. Reuter will be presenting at the 2023 Wisconsin Marine Association Fall Conference on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Mr. Reuter’s presentation is titled “Marina Contracts – How Does Yours Stack Up?” Using real world examples, Mr. Reuter will provide marina owners and operators with the best practices to protect themselves against liability and other unnecessary costs and expenses.
