Heading to Minneapolis this summer for work or a conference?

Here's something worth knowing before you book that Uber from your hotel.

Tuesday nights during peak convention season can be some of the busiest rideshare nights in the entire metro. Sold-out hotels, overflow guests getting rerouted across town, and tens of thousands of extra people on the roads all at once.

Last summer, one Tuesday night hit 97.5% hotel occupancy in Minneapolis. That's more than 10,000 rooms filled in a single night.

If something goes wrong in a rideshare during your trip, Minnesota law still protects you, even if you're not from here. And if you were traveling for work, you may have more options than you think.

We put together a full breakdown for out-of-town travelers.

Heimerl & Lammers has added Joseph Strand to its personal injury team, expanding the firm’s work representing injured Minnesotans through its injury law practice 612-INJURED.

Strand earned a Master of Divinity from Yale University, where he studied ethics and public responsibility, before earning his law degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law.

“Joe is thoughtful, tough, and he takes his clients seriously,” said Michael Lammers. “That matters when you’re dealing with insurance companies.”

At Heimerl & Lammers, Strand represents people seriously injured in accidents and works to hold negligent parties and their insurers accountable.
