"What is the judge actually looking for?"
That is the question I hear more than almost any other. Parents come into our office nervous, overwhelmed, and trying to understand a process that nobody has taken the time to explain to them.
The phrase "best interests of the child" gets used in every custody case. Judges say it. Attorneys write it in every motion. sitting across from a parent who has never had it explained to them, that never gets easier to witness.
This week at RWI Law we put together a full breakdown. The 7 factors courts actually consider. The questions we hear most from parents. What you can do right now to put yourself in the strongest position possible.
Custody cases are too important to walk into unprepared.

One of the questions I hear most often from clients is some version of this, "what is the judge actually looking for?" It is a fair question. Walking into a custody case without understanding the standard the court uses feels like showing up to a test without knowing the subject.
