The song “Sweet Dreams” will always remind me of a recital my dance school had in the early 90s, where the super cool Advanced Jazz class danced to this song in neon outfits and high side-ponytails. A favorite Christmas present this year was this phenomenal puzzle table my husband bought me. We decided to put it right under the biggest window in the house, and I cannot express the amount of joy I feel sitting across from someone I love, watching snow fall, assembling a huge puzzle of vintage candy wrappers. 10/10
This one has little shallow drawers you can use to sort the pieces but let’s be honest, any little table will do.
Maybe you need a puzzle table too?

Many of our vintage homes have decidedly *closed* layouts, rather than the open layouts you see in new developments. In a house with smaller rooms, you’ll often find you have a wall that doesn’t quite fit seating or a table, maybe you pass too close to it to get to the door?

Don’t underestimate the joys of a good bookshelf!
This shelf is in our dining room and I love filling half the wall with my design box and half the wall with a rotating selection of art. I find it far more interesting in a dining room to see books, rather than a plain sideboard. It also keeps books really handy for grabbing and taking to the living room next door.

The only real mistake you can make here is choosing a bookshelf that is too small. It will look odd floating on its own on a big wall. Try to fill up the space as much as you can from side to side, and you’ll probably be happier.

“The Edge”
Standing at the edge of a new chapter can be scary.
The desire to run back into the pages you know so well is more than tempting. But you must keep moving.

Chapters end, even the good ones. And if you linger in the past too long, your story cannot unfold the way it should. And you might just miss the most beautiful moments of your life, whilst grieving the ones gone by.

It’s scary at the edge my friend, I know.
But just jump. You have so much ahead. And the good stuff behind, will always be there.
