The 2026 John J. Jennings Educational Seminar is October 26th-28th in Marlborough, and is designed to provide members of the PFFM with the tools necessary to effectively lead their Locals and participate in moving our great union forward in the interests of all firefighters.

This year's program features general sessions and more than 40 workshops, including our core offerings on contracts, union meetings, health insurance, and collective bargaining. New for this year, we're expanding into emerging and timely issues - battery energy storage systems, drone operations, and navigating firehouse culture across generations - ensuring our members stay ahead of the challenges shaping today's fire service.

🚨TODAY AT THE STATE HOUSE 🚨

Barrault and Associates Attorney, Harper Hutchins attended the Hearing for HB5429 before the Joint Committee on Public Service. This bill provides injured on duty compensation to to Nick Spinale, a Chelmsford Firefighter injured at the MA Fire Academy, until he is fit to return to duty or retire and marks an important collaboration between the PFFM, Chelmsford Local 1839 and the Governor’s office.

We are grateful to see this bill be met with such unwavering support and this bill is just the beginning! This legislation only fixes the issue for Firefighter Spinale, it does not address the policy gaps that still exist for current part-time Academy employees, for that, a more permanent fix is needed.

We remain committed to advocating for a permanent legislative fix that protects every firefighter who puts their safety on the line in service to our communities.

Boston Firefighters Credit Union is honored to partner with Boston Fire Local 718 in support of the family of fallen Boston Firefighter Robert Kilduff, Jr.

At the request of the family, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Boston Fire Local 718 Children’s Fund. Your support will help provide assistance to the children and families of Boston firefighters during times of tragedy and hardship.
