To our dear Friends and Clients:

We just wanted to reach out to let you know that we are fine (although without power) and slowly getting back to work, despite Sandy's best efforts. The building housing our Millburn office sustained some minor damage in the storm, but should be accessible and functional soon. Those of you with original documents on file with us will be relieved to know that our fire- and water- proof vault is 100% intact (and that we had no opportunity to find out whether it really could withstand being submerged for three hours).

Although I do not have power at home, I am accessible via cell and email. Please be patient if replies come a bit less quickly than usual, as internet connectivity and cell service is still very inconsistent, and it is necessary to find a place to charge the phones and laptops several times during the day. Olivia and the rest of the office staff are also working remotely until power is restored at the office.

Those of you with tax and other deadlines approaching: Although the IRS and state offices of taxation have not yet issued official statements, it is all but certain that a grace period will be extended to filers affected by Sandy.

Should any urgent matters arise, please call Jane's cell (917-902-7114), as the office lines are down and the utility companies have given us no estimate regarding when we can expect service to return.
