This year has been tough for both buyers and sellers. As affordability strains buyers, many sellers are pulling listings after prices fall short of expectations.

Delistings jumped nearly 38% in October from a year earlier and are up about 45% year to date, according to Realtor.com®. Since June, roughly 6% of listings have been removed each month, making 2025 the highest delisting rate since tracking began in 2022.

"The delisting trend is a perfect personification of the stagnant and frustration-filled housing market," says Realtor.com senior economist Jake Krimmel. "With buyers and sellers far apart, the sellers’ solution is to pull that trump card and delist, rather than cut prices."

A Major Step Forward for the redevelopment of Hampton Road 🛣️

December 2nd DeSoto City Council approved the rezoning of parcels in the Hampton Road corridor from Belt Line Road to Pleasant Run Road — marking an important milestone shaped by years of community conversation.

First introduced in 2005 and reinforced by voter support in 2014, this effort has evolved through surveys, open houses, collaboration with development partners, and guidance from from planning and design consultants. Staff also refined the project footprint based on community feedback. Residents asked for progress, and City Council is committed to delivering it.

The approved rezoning of parcels helps guide future development along the corridor, with a vision that includes:

🏘️ Residential
🏥 Medical
🛍️ Retail & Restaurants
🌳 Community gathering, parks, and garden spaces

This long-term vision will move forward thoughtfully and in phases, with continued community engagement along the way.

Residents are also encouraged to watch the City Council meeting recording to hear the full and meaningful discussion that took place ahead of the vote.

Waxahachie ISD officials delivered a detailed update last week on the construction progress at Waxahachie Creek High School, marking one of the project’s most visible leaps forward as steel rises, concrete sets, and design decisions — including the school’s future mascot and colors — approach final approval.

The bulk of the evening centered on Waxahachie Creek — a project moving quickly from groundwork into visible structural change.
