A Major Step Forward for the redevelopment of Hampton Road 🛣️
December 2nd DeSoto City Council approved the rezoning of parcels in the Hampton Road corridor from Belt Line Road to Pleasant Run Road — marking an important milestone shaped by years of community conversation.
First introduced in 2005 and reinforced by voter support in 2014, this effort has evolved through surveys, open houses, collaboration with development partners, and guidance from from planning and design consultants. Staff also refined the project footprint based on community feedback. Residents asked for progress, and City Council is committed to delivering it.
The approved rezoning of parcels helps guide future development along the corridor, with a vision that includes:

🛍️ Retail & Restaurants
🌳 Community gathering, parks, and garden spaces
This long-term vision will move forward thoughtfully and in phases, with continued community engagement along the way.
