Biggest lie ever! 😩 They’ll tell you to drain your savings to pay off all your credit cards like that’s automatically the smartest financial move.
Then guess what? The credit card company can reduce your limit or close the account, your credit profile can change, and now the CASH you worked so hard to save is GONE too.
I’d rather see people make decisions based on their entire financial picture. Pay down high-interest credit-card debt strategically, maintain adequate emergency reserves, and then consider investing appropriate long-term funds in diversified stocks or bonds based on your goals and risk tolerance.
And no—you generally do NOT need to carry a credit-card balance or pay interest to build good credit. Paying a card down to $0 does not itself ruin your credit. The bigger issue is what happens to utilization, available credit, account history, and your cash reserves afterward.
