Dr. Brown is active in our community. She serves as a Powhatan Planning Commissioner and the Commission’s Chair. She is on the Board of the Free Clinic of Powhatan and the Powhatan County Historical Society. She is Powhatan’s representative on the Reynolds Community College Board of Directors. Upon her retirement, Dr. Brown set up and managed Powhatan’s Habitat for Humanity Restore with the help of many volunteers. The Restore is now a major source of revenue for the nonprofit and keeps many items out of the landfill.
