: Last Thursday, I joined my fellow changemakers for The Miami Foundation's 11th annual State of Black Philanthropy at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. In a time where immigrants are under threat from the government, they continue to rise, with Black immigrants specifically contributing $14.5B to 's economy.

I'm proud to be part of the 30% of leaders in the sector who are Black. That's why an investment in Florida Justice Institute's work empowers vulnerable communities by pushing back on efforts to disenfranchise and marginalize. Your support matters. Today, ABA CRSJ commemorates the anniversary of Hall v. Florida, the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that strengthened constitutional protections for people with intellectual disabilities facing the death penalty. The Court recognized that rigid IQ score cutoffs fail to reflect medical standards or human dignity, reinforcing that justice must be informed by science, fairness, and respect for individual rights.

As we reflect on this historic ruling, we continue the work of advancing equity, due process, and humane treatment within our legal system.

On , we mourn the loss and celebrate the life of those we lost in combat.

My classmate from high school, Sgt. Tromaine Toy, is in my thoughts. He made the ultimate sacrifice at only 24 years old.

Grateful for his service but I have a huge problem with anyone who says that a military draft should return in this country.

The human toll matters. Respect for the Fallen means not sending troops into unnecessary conflicts for the wealthy and powerful. (via Military Times)

: As The Late Show with Stephen Colbert ends its run, it reminds me of the time a few of my teammates and I made a cameo on Stephen Colbert's previous show, , for a segment called "Stephen's Sound Advice: High School."

It was unexpected given that: 1) we didn't know that picture existed; and 2) we graduated from high school 6 years before the episode aired on September 20, 2006.

It remains a core memory, however.

Happy trails, Stephen. Good luck and godspeed. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0867734/ (📺: The Colbert Report)
