Warning to claimant’s for disability: Don’t fall prey to fraudulent tax schemes.

At this time of year we frequently see ads implying that anyone can file taxes and get child credit refunds. Many times the ads encourage filing when a person has no real income. Many ads even say “no proof of income required”. Don’t fall victim to bad advice!

Any income you report for taxes should be real or it’s tax fraud. Such income is presumed to be work activity in your disability case. If you have done any work after claiming disability, you should inform your attorney (if you have one) as any reported income will most definitely be considered in your claim.
