We are incredibly proud to announce that our law clerk, Pablo Fomperosa, has passed the Florida Bar Exam and will soon be serving as a JAG officer in the U.S. Marine Corps!

As we celebrate Independence Day, we honor the freedoms that define our great nation. We reflect on the incredible bravery of our founding fathers, who boldly declared independence and laid the foundation for the freedoms we cherish today.

As many of us enjoy boating and water activities this holiday, we want to share some essential boating safety tips:

1. Wear Life Jackets: Ensure everyone on board wears a properly fitted life jacket.

2. Check the Weather: Always check the weather forecast before heading out and be prepared for sudden changes.

3. Stay Sober: Never operate a boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

4. Have a Float Plan: Inform someone on land about your trip details, including your departure and return times.

5. Equip Your Boat: Make sure your boat has all the necessary safety equipment, including flares, fire extinguishers, and a first aid kit.

With genuine gratitude, as well as sincere and heartfelt congratulations, we announce the retirement of Jonathan "Jono" Skipp.



Jono is a 29 year+ partner in the firm. After working with Dave in the late 1980s at the Mitchell Harris, Horr firm and four years at Fowler, White, Jono rejoined Dave in September 1994 and the firm became known at that point as Horr, Linfors & Skipp. The firm evolved in ensuing years with additional partners to ultimately become known as it is today as Horr, Skipp and Perez.



We acknowledge and appreciate Jono's dedication to the firm. Throughout his career, his commitment to our Maritime clients has been unwavering, helping shape the firm's reputation and contributing to its success. Jono successfully defended hundreds of cases during his tenure with the firm. He earned the respect and admiration of his Maritime colleagues and clients alike.



Jono has been a valued colleague and mentor to many lawyers and team members of the firm throughout his time here. His integrity, professionalism, and commitment to excellence contributed to establish a standard of excellent performance for Horr, Skipp & Perez representing its clients.

Horr, Skipp & Perez would like to wish Donna Cosmen a Happy 25th Anniversary at HSP! Donna has been a legal assistant at our firm since the late 1990s. She has been essential to our success. For many years, she worked very closely with some of the firm’s partners. Recently, she has worked with younger associates starting their careers. Her firm and industry knowledge is next to none and she has been the perfect person to pair with these young lawyers. Donna is also responsible for helping us organize our famous potluck events which have become firm tradition.

We very much appreciate Donna’s contributions to the firm and hope she sticks with us for 25 more years!
