🚨 BREAKING:...The Lagos State Government has introduced a new Tenancy Bill aimed at controlling excessive rent increases and regulating the fees charged by house agents and landlords in Lagos.

👉🏼Landlords will no longer be allowed to increase rent any how without proper regulation.

👉🏼The government wants to stop the sudden and outrageous rent hikes happening across Lagos.

👉🏼Estate agents will also be regulated so they don't overcharge tenants with excessive agency fees, caution fees, agreement fees, and other hidden charges.

👉🏼The bill is expected to protect tenants from exploitation and make renting houses fairer.

👉🏼The government said many Lagos residents are struggling because rent prices have become too expensive.

👉🏼Once passed into law, landlords and agents who violate the rules could face penalties.

👉🏼The bill will also help define the rights and responsibilities of landlords, tenants, and agents to reduce disputes.

---Many Nigerians online are reacting positively because house rent and agent fees in Lagos have become extremely high in recent years!

“Three days after we buried my father, my uncle looked me straight in the eyes and said… ‘If you keep crying instead of hustling, hunger will bury this family too.’ 💔”

Since that day, sleep no longer comes easy for me.

My father used one old Toyota Picnic for transportation before he died. That car was our survival. That car fed the family. That car carried strangers every day just so we could eat at night.

I still remember how he would wake up by 4am, clean the car quietly while everybody was sleeping, then leave the house with hope in his eyes.

Now the man is gone…And the responsibility has landed on my head overnight.

People are now advising me to sell the Toyota Picnic and buy two Okada. One for me to ride. One for hire purchase.

They said:“Bike business dey move fast.”“You fit see daily cash.”“You be young man, hustle hard.”

But honestly…I am scared.

I don’t know anything about Okada business.I don’t know the hidden problems.I hear stories of accidents every week.Police wahala.Bad roads.Maintenance.Agberos.Hospital bills.

At the same time, keeping the Picnic is not easy too.Fuel is expensive.Motor parts no be child’s play again.Mechanics can frustrate somebody till depression enter.

Sometimes I enter that Toyota Picnic and perceive my father’s perfume still trapped inside the seat…And I break down like a baby.

It feels like if I sell that car…I am selling the last memory I have of him.

Nigeria can humble somebody overnight.

Now I am standing between emotion and survival.Between preserving my father’s legacy…Or risking everything to start a new hustle.

So tell me honestly Nigerians… If you were the one standing in my shoes, what would you do?

SHALOM !!!

Security update from Nnewi

This Mr Nnanyelu Michael Anazor

He is a popular trader in Nnewi main market, at the pharmaceutical section.

He was abducted last week thursday by unknown people, around Nkwọ Nnewi market by 7pm.

It happened that on that faithful day, Mr Nnanyelu received his goods from Onitsha. It was a long busy day, as they were offloading and forwarding the goods to his warehouses.
They couldn't finishing up on time, so the offload extended beyond the market closing time.

The market security allowed for the offload to continue after the market had closed, and they would open the gate for them to take their leave when they are done.

At a point around 7pm, Mr Nnanyelu left his ụmụ boi(apprentices) to step out of the market.
Little did he know that a plot to get him abducted has already been perfected.

In less than two minutes of him driving out of the market gate, he was double crossed and taken away to a destination no one knows till date.

Very huge amount of money have been taken from him so far, with the abductees still demanding for more.

But amidst all these, there are so many questions begging for answers.

Who gave information that Mr Nnanyelu was still inside the market by that time, and who gave information when he was driving out ?

Does it mean that Nkwọ Nnewi does not have an active security? Do the traders not pay security levy?

This is also another opportunity to ask why Nnewi streets are always dark at night. Streetlights go a long way in reducing insecurity. Why do we not have streetlights on the streets of Nnewi ?

The entire market surrounding is pitch dark at night. That is not right.

Yesterday, there was a video circulating on the internet that is emphasizing on the current security situation in Nnewi.
Where are the security men in Nnewi? What of Agụnechemba/Udogachị which we see all over Nnewi during the day ?

We call on Nnewi north local government Hon Echezona Anazodo and also on the government of Anambra state

Why is the OSU SYSTEM still valid in Igboland ?

Few years ago, the traditional rulers in Igboland came together to abolish the osu system in Igboland . What that should mean is that nobody should ever be segregated again in Igboland for being an osu.

However, that abolishment seems to be just verbal and not practical.

A good example is that before marriages happens in Igboland, both families do background checks on each other, and one of the things they check is if the other family are osu.
If for any reason one family discovers that the other is an osu family, they will immediately withdraw their interest from the marriage plans .

Why is this still happening, if that belief has been said to be abolished ?

Many ladies have remained unmarried or married wrongly because of this belief, and many men had to marry a lady from another state or distant community who either do not have the osu system in their community or were not able to do proper background checks before marriage due to distance.

It is even funny and sad that Christians who say they do not believe in Igbo traditions also avoid marrying from osu families, instead of championing the abolishment. Is that not hypocrisy? Who is actually deceiving who ?

To all traditional rulers in Igboland and Ọdịnala practitioners , this osu issue has to be looked into to make sure a practical permanent abolishment is achieved.

FROM MAY 1, 2026, YOUR BANK ACCOUNT CAN ‘LOCK’ BUT NOT THE WAY YOU THINK.

Many people are shouting,
“CBN wants to block our Bank accounts!”

Calm down. Let’s be factual.

Here is what is REALLY happening;

The 5 Key Things You MUST Know:

1. You can only change your BVN phone number ONCE in your lifetime.
This is to stop SIM swap fraud.

2. Only one device per banking app:

If you log in on a new phone, the old one logs out automatically.

3. ₦20,000 limit on new device (first 24 hours)
Temporary restriction to prevent fraud.

4. 24-hour watchlist for suspicious activity:

Your account can be temporarily restricted if something looks suspicious.

5. BVN is now strictly 18+
No more independent BVN for minors.

So will people be “locked out of their accounts”?

Not exactly.

That part is what people are using to make it go viral.

What can happen is:
If your details are wrong or suspicious, your account may be temporarily restricted.

If you ignore updates (like phone number issues) you may face access stress

But, the goal is fraud prevention, not punishment.

My SIMPLE ADVICE: Before May 1, 2026,

Make sure your BVN phone number is active and If you want to change it, do it before May 1.

Be ready for stricter login checks

Don’t wait until your account starts doing “I no gree for you.”

This rule is not to suffer Nigerians.
It is to stop fraudsters.

But if you are careless with your details,
your own account can stress you.
