Cities have many streets, but each one holds a particular rhythm — a way the light falls at a certain hour, how people move through it, where the best coffee is poured. The trick is to let the city unfold naturally, like a conversation.

The guys at Hedonism Cycling have mapped out a day — a quiet rhythm of places to pause, move, and take in the city.

• Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum
A library at Humboldt University, recommended by friends as a great workspace. We finally visited before New Year’s to reflect on 2024, and it’s now one of my favorite spots. The student vibes, beautiful architecture, and quiet atmosphere are perfect for focused work—just get there early to grab a seat!

• La Fève
A cozy café near Treptower Park, apparently run by the French. They serve incredible fresh croissants, great coffee, and the interior is all about vintage furniture—just the way I like it!

• Flea Market on Boxhagener Platz
A vintage market at Boxi, close to our home. On Saturdays, we love to explore the street food stalls, and on Sundays, it’s all about hunting for unique vintage treasures.

• Museumsinsel
The Museum Island is a special place for me. Despite its touristy vibe and crowds, it’s breathtakingly beautiful early in the morning when it’s quiet. The stunning architecture makes it one of my favorite spots for photoshoots.

• Monbijoupark
A small park near Museum Island, perfect for summer picnics. Once, while strolling there, I discovered a secret courtyard with little gardens—my dream spot for a birthday celebration.

• Weinerei Forum Weinbar
We stumbled upon this wine bar during our first months in Prenzlauer Berg, near Zionskirche. Turns out, it’s a favorite among our friends too. Natural wine for €7, delicious quiche, and a stylish crowd—what’s not to love?

We asked Masha Yolkina, a Berlin-based communication consultant and founder of Open Talks , who loves slow traveling, deep conversations, and books about friendship and a complex work of human relationships, to share her story and ideas.

‘For a long time, I believed I hated small talk and avoided meeting new people. I thought I wasn’t cut out for forming connections. Looking back, I realize I wasn’t afraid of conversations — I was afraid of vulnerability. I feared being rejected and revealing my true self.’

👀 Why Small Talk isn’t enough?

We often stick to safe topics — facts and surface-level observations — because they feel less risky. While small talk is a natural starting point, it rarely helps us feel truly connected. To deepen a conversation, try sharing how you feel about what you’re discussing.

Example: Instead of just talking about a book, focus on your partner’s feelings and experiences. ‘What stayed with you after finishing it? What was it like for you to read it?’

Building deeper connections takes courage, curiosity, and a willingness to step into vulnerability. Continue reading the post in the cards, try one idea and see how it transforms your conversations.

What’s your go-to question when you want to connect? Let us know in the comments!

Meet Olesya, a lively spirit who calls the enchanting town of Annecy her home. Nestled at the foot of the Alps, come winter, this town becomes the perfect gateway to the slopes of world-class ski resorts, just a short drive away.

After a day carving through powder on the slopes, there’s nothing quite like returning to Annecy for a cozy après-ski. Imagine warming up with a rich cup of hot chocolate or a glass of mulled wine by a crackling fire, surrounded by friends sharing stories of the day’s adventures.

Mountain air, a crystal-clear lake, and French sophistication — this is Annecy. Olesya will guide you through the most inspiring routes and help you truly fall in love with this corner of France.

Сiao! Meet Rita. She is a ceramic artist and the founder of the .ceramics studio in Saint Petersburg and the ceramics brand .objects in London.

“I moved to London in the spring of 2024 and settled in the charming Richmond area, about an hour from the city centre. My neighbourhood is blessed with the Thames riverside and Richmond Park. It’s the perfect spot for walks through vast fields, under ancient trees, and even among herds of deer that call it home.

Once a week, I try to carve out a day for exploring the city — a little date with London. It usually starts with coffee. I’m a fan of WatchHouse cafés — they’ve got lovely interiors and consistently great coffee. From there, I’ll often visit a museum (most of them here are free!) and finish the day with a long walk. Even if I only have 30 minutes and I’m near a museum, I’ll pop in for a quick visit.”

In this guide, Rita shares her favourite museums and cultural spaces. They are personal sources of creativity and a breath of fresh air from the busy city life.
